April Spring Fling Fun
Check out Clayton and Garrett !!

Spring Fling was awesome! We had a ball. The city helped bring in American Ramp Company to set up a temporary Skate Park. The weather was perfect and everyone had a great time. Thanks to everyone who worked a shift and all who came out to support the event. It was really fun to watch the kids and the adults skate. It was also a treat to see Micah and some of his Celtic team come out and rip. Lots of kids showed up to skate and we had a chance to look at some different designs and skate the ARC eequipement. Also, local ESPN showed up with tshirts and water bottles and has offered to help us publicize.
Other updates: We are going with a 3-inch poured concrete surface rather than the polished surface due to city engineer recommendations. The good news here is that they are willing and in agreement to do the top elevated slab in concrete and build in concrete skate elements. This is huge and is a giant plus for concrete lovers. The remainder of the lower area will be whatever modular equipment we can afford and choose. Be thinking about additional fund raising and grants we can apply for. Also, due to the tremendous cost of doing the “rail” trail to the park, the “children’s pocket park” we now be situated on the other side of the rail trail at the trail head. We have stressed the importance of having the trail connect to our park and also talked about the visability between the two parks.
Also, watch the city channel, 14, for our skate park “commercial”. Harriette, Mitch and Lamar, you two did a fabulous job!!!!!!! The skaters, Wade, Bow, Hollis, Parker, Clayton, and Carroll and all the kids make it look fun and easy
